What are beneficiation tailings?

Beneficiation tailings are the leftover materials or residues that remain after the process of extracting valuable minerals from ore. During beneficiation, the ore is crushed, ground, and subjected to various processes to concentrate the valuable components, leaving behind a slurry or solid waste. These tailings often contain a mixture of fine particles, water, and chemicals used in the beneficiation process. They need to be managed and disposed of properly to minimize environmental impact, often stored in tailings dams or ponds.
